Why Computer Recycling
As we continue to grow as a company, we want to make sure that we’re not forgetting about our community - which is why we partner with InterConnection.
Who they are: InterConnection is a small nonprofit located here in Seattle - more specifically, Fremont.
What they do: In their own words “We make information and communication technology accessible to underserved communities around the world.” But for us, they’ve been an excellent way to make sure that we’re not producing a ton of waste when making technology work for our clients. We’ve donated more than 300 laptops and desktops to them over the past three years, and they’ve helped us recycle more than 500 hard drives. And that’s not including the servers and back-up batteries (and keyboards and mice and monitors) that they’ve taken as well.
Why we like them: We share some core values with InterConnection and we’re all about it. While we're helping out clients utilize technology, they're making sure communities around the world have access to the same technology through computer recycling. We strongly believe that technology helps make the world go round by empowering those who use it - it’s part of our company vision. A laptop we donate could be refurbished and sold from their store in Fremont, it could be given to Communities in Schools in Federal Way or even sent to Peace Corp volunteers in Mozambique.
Next time we send you a gentle nudge to replace your PC or laptop, think of how productive your new set up will make you, and the impact you’ll be making for someone else.
*please note that Dynamic and InterConnection work hard to make sure that all hard drives are wiped before they move into their second life.
